My Honest Review of Le Prunier

My facialist introduced me to Le Prunier earlier this year.

Initially, I balked at the price and couldn’t bring myself to spend $78 on sunscreen. But she talked me into buying it, and I am so glad I did.

This is hands-down the best sunscreen I have ever used in my life. It goes on evenly, isn’t greasy at all, and stays on for hours.

It’s the only sunscreen I have found that is vegan, gluten free, and non-gmo and doesn’t leave a sticky white residue like most sunscreens.

Le Prunier sells other products as well, including a plum beauty oil and body cream. All of their products are made from a blend of plum varietals in California.

I haven’t had the chance to try the cream or oil yet but I’ll definitely write a full review when I do!

Tube of Le Prunier Plumscreen

Referred to as “Plumscreen®,” this 31 SPF sunscreen is derived from a plum superfruit formula that protects collagen from pollution, UV damage, and blue light.

It has a silky texture and blends really well into my skin – I never see any residue and can easily layer it under makeup.

It’s also free of zinc oxide, so it doesn’t have that annoying white residue that most sunscreens have. The zinc-free formula also means that it can be worn in the ocean without harming coral reefs.

As an added bonus, it also helps protect against future wrinkles. In fact, after six weeks, 100% of users showed a reduction in the appearance of dark spots. Crazy!

According to their website, "Le Prunier Plumscreen is hypoallergenic, pediatrician-approved, non-comedogenic, and gentle enough for all skin types."

Bottle of Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil

I also haven’t had the chance to use this product yet, but here's what I know about it:

Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil brightens, balances, and restores skin while locking in moisture. It offers an excellent source of nourishing vitamins and antioxidants, including polyphenols, omega fatty acids 6 & 9 (which protect the skin from damage) and pro-vitamin A & E which help heal and hydrate.

It is weightless and quickly absorbed by the skin. It's also great for all skin types and doesn’t contain essential oils, parabens, sulfates, preservatives, added fragrance, or chemicals.

Jar of Le Prunier Plumbody Cream

I haven’t had the chance to try Le Prunier Plum Oil, but here’s what I know about it!

This seems like a great product if you want to combat wrinkles as well as dry, flaky skin.

Le Prunier’s Plumbody cream smoothes and decreases fine lines and firms, hydrates, and nourishes skin while improving elasticity. It is made with a plum extract called Midnight Muir, a patented formula made exclusively by Le Prunier.

It is designed to awaken fatigued skin and reduce redness and is rich in Vitamins A, C, & E, and B3. It is great for all skin types, including those who have sensitive, acne-prone and dehydrated skin.

As an added bonus, the reviews online also said it smells great!

Who is Le Prunier?

Launched in September 2017, Le Prunier is owned by siblings Jacqueline, Allison and Elaine Taylor. The company’s roots began in 1916 on their great grandfather’s farm in Northern California.

During the sisters’ travels, they discovered that Western Asia regards the dried plum as the “Fruit of Life”. In 2014, the sisters decided to partner with two world-renowned beauty labs to create a product derived from the antioxidant-rich fruit.

They can now be found in Neiman Marcus, Credo Beauty, The Detox Market, and various other beauty shops. Their Plum Beauty Oil won the “2024 Elle Best for Congested Skin” award and their plumscreen won PureWow’s 2024 award for “Best Sustainable Products: SPF.”
